Dravid not motivated by revenge
Rahul Dravid
Dravid's team lost to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the World Cup
Captain Rahul Dravid insists India will not be seeking revenge for their humiliating World Cup exit on their Test and one-day tour of Bangladesh.

The Tigers beat India by five wickets in the Caribbean and Dravid's side were unable to reach the Super 8 phase.

"I don't really believe in revenge," said Dravid, as his squad flew in to Dhaka.

"There were lots of youngsters in their team we hadn't seen much of but now we have a lot more first-hand knowledge."

India's squad for the one-day series, which starts on Thursday, will have something of an unfamiliar look, with Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar kept for the Test matches and Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan left out of both parties.

Bengal batting prospect Manoj Tewari and teenage leg-spinner Piyush Chawla have been included.

"I am sure that we have got some very good players, very talented players and the players are ready to do well," said Dravid, fit after a delivery in the nets from RP Singh squeezed between his visor and grille and struck him painfully on the nose.

Temperatures in many parts of Bangladesh have reached 37C in the last few days, about seven degrees higher than the seasonal average, but Dravid is unconcerned by the effects this might have.

"The weather is the same for both teams and a lot of our players endure similar conditions in India," he said.

"It is not that we are coming from somewhere where the weather is very different form here, so I don't think it's really an issue for us.

"We had a good camp in Calcutta, the boys really acclimatised well and are looking forward to playing some very good cricket."

The first ODI takes place in Dhaka on 10 May.
