This is not the first time Shoaib has been in trouble |
Pakistan paceman Shoaib Akhtar has appealed against his 2,500 fine for leaving a training camp in Karachi. Shoaib was also docked 1.5 points from the 20 disciplinary points available to players who are on central contracts.
"We have an appeal in which Shoaib wants the penalties imposed reviewed," PCB chief executive Shafqat Nagmi.
"He says he informed the captain about his departure because of a stiff neck, but admitted to not getting permission from the team manager, as required."
Nagmi said last week that the 32-year-old had failed to attend a disciplinary hearing but the player says he was not given advance notice of the proceedings.
"I have appealed against the fine because I think I was not given the chance to give my version of events," Shoaib said.
