Shoaib fined for row with coach
Shoaib Akhtar
Shoaib was back to his devastating best...before another injury
Paceman Shoaib Akhtar has been fined around 1,300 by Pakistan's management after his public row with Bob Woolmer.

Shoaib's discussion with the coach on day two of the second Test in South Africa was picked up by TV cameras.

The 31-year-old, whose four wickets helped skittle the hosts for 124, had picked up a hamstring injury and was unavailable for the rest of the game.

Woolmer has denied reports that he threatened to resign but confirmed team manager Talat Ali had imposed the fine.

Despite Shoaib's injury, which has forced him to return home, the tourists won by five wickets to level the three-match series 1-1.

It was the "Rawalpindi Express'" first Test in 11 months after injury problems forced him to miss the series in Sri Lanka and England.

He was banned for two years after failing a drugs test last October but that was lifted on appeal.
