Pathan followed his first five-wicket haul with his second |
India's Irfan Pathan said his maiden five-wicket haul on Friday gave him the confidence to repeat the feat in the second innings against Bangladesh. The Tigers were close to defeat with two days left, after Pathan's 5-31.
"It's a great feeling to have a maiden five-wicket haul in the first innings and 10 in the match," he said.
"You need one five-wicket haul to get started. I didn't know it was going to happen so quickly. I rate this performance very highly."
In his ninth Test, the left-armer added: "I think I bowled a lot better in the second innings than in the first. The ball here swings more than in India."
But Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar refused to accept excuses, saying: "The wicket was good for batting. Even then we couldn't do well.
"It's very frustrating."
