With Kirby and Steven Finn claiming the early wickets of Mohammad Hafeez (3) and Shahzaib Hasan (10) respectively, Pakistan A were struggling on 18-2. But they soon recovered as Asad Shafiq managed 31 before succumbing to Adil Rashid, while Umair Khan (49) and Aamer Sajjad (23) looked to put them in the driving seat. Kirby returned to the attack to break their 46-run fourth-wicket stand, claiming the wickets of both batsmen in successive overs. Sajid Mahmood ran out Naeem Anjum (7) to leave Pakistan A needing six off the final over, but Tanvir Ahmed's boundary off Mahmood consigned the Lions to their first defeat on their tour of the United Arab Emirates.
