Twenty20 tour match, Sharjah: England Lions 107-2 (16.1 ovs) bt Pakistan A (106) by eight wickets
Rashid's quick burst left Pakistan's innings in tatters |
England Lions took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the Twenty20 series against Pakistan A after a comfortable eight-wicket win in Sharjah on Sunday. Three wickets by Adil Rashid tore the heart out of the Pakistan middle order and saw them bowled out for just 106. Craig Kieswetter top-scored with an unbeaten 40 as England's second-string reached the target off 16.1 overs. The Lions won the first game by seven wickets and will aim to complete a whitewash in the final game on Tuesday. Pakistan's hopes of success vanished as they lost four wickets for just seven runs, with Rashid doing most of the damage. First he had Aamer Sajjad caught by Andrew Gale for 13, then Kashif Siddiq (0) and Asad Shafiq (5) were both stumped by Kieswetter. Rashid finished with 3-13 from his four overs, with Chris Woakes and Sajid Mahmood each claiming two wickets. The Lions never struggled in their run chase, as Kieswetter followed his fine 77 not out in the opening game with another unbeaten knock. Ian Bell (32) was the other man at the crease with him as the Lions reached their target, with Steve Davies (17) and Michael Lumb (13) being the two batsmen out.
