England's players celebrate their win at Headingley last Monday |
England have resisted the temptation to make changes to their squad of 12 for the fourth and final Test against Pakistan starting on Thursday. With the series already won, England might have chosen to rest players.
But the same 11 who won at Headingley, plus regular 12th man Jon Lewis, have been named by the selectors.
Chairman of selectors David Graveney said: "The team has played really well in the last two Tests and the challenge now is to maintain those standards."
The most obvious potential candidate to come into the squad was Stuart Broad, the 20-year-old Leicestershire fast bowler who shone in the spotlight of Saturday's Twenty20 Finals day.
He was ignored on this occasion but Graveney did say Broad, along with Darren Gough, was "high on the list of discussions" for the one-day series which follows the Tests.

Hoggard suffered a jarred knee at Headingley and was not at his best in the two matches won by England, but he is no longer troubled by the injury.
Chris Read lost a tooth playing for Nottinghamshire on Saturday but keeps his place as wicket-keeper, continuing his comeback in place of Geraint Jones.
Graveney said experimentation for the Test at The Oval had been avoided "in light of what we have in front of us over the next six months".

England are clearly keen to build momentum in the lead-up to the Ashes in Australia this winter.
Graveney singled out captain Andrew Strauss and spinner Monty Panesar for special praise in the first three Tests.
And Panesar told Five Live's Sportsweek: "I am pleased things are going well. I've got to keep working on it and keep at it.
"I'm enjoying [the attention] and my friends and family are quite pleased too, but I am trying to stay level-headed."
England squad: Strauss (c), Trescothick, Cook, Pietersen, Collingwood, Bell, Read (wkt), Mahmood, Hoggard, Harmison, Panesar, Lewis.
