Giles hopes for more joy
James Anderson and Ashley Giles celebrate another wicket
James Anderson and Ashley Giles celebrate another wicket
Ashley Giles, who followed up his nine-wicket haul at Lord's with 4-65 in West Indies' first innings at Edgbaston, says his confidence is high.

"Everything's going really well and I've bowled some really good spells. The longer it continues the better.

"The pitch is wearing - I think you could see that when we went out to bat in the second innings.

"There are more balls with variable pace and bounce, I just hope Marcus Trescothick can get another century."

The England spinner used the third day of the second Test to take his overall wicket tally to 19 in his last five innings.

Giles had often reserved his best for abroad but is happy and confident about his recent performances after enduring criticism from fans and media alike in the past.

"I've had a lot of stick but from September this has been by far my best year as an England bowler," added the Warwickshire player.

"I think I've taken 44 Test wickets in that time and I've played some of my best Test matches - two in Sri Lanka, one against New Zealand at Trent Bridge and the Lord's Test last week against the West Indies.

"I've started well here and I think I've played some of my best games in the past few months."
