Ashley Giles reaffirmed his belief that he is the best spinner in the land after he kept England on top with three wickets on day two against West Indies. The hosts held a commanding 360-run lead in the first Test at Lord's after Giles' 3-58 helped reduce the Windies to 208-4 in reply to England's 568.
"I still think I am the best spinning option in the country," Giles said.
"Parts of my game have improved a lot and I am becoming more consistent with the ball."
He added: "I'm enjoying my cricket but I'm not going to jump off the top of Lord's.
"I feel I've got a lot to offer English cricket and I felt I had good control of my action and pace,"
Giles admitted recently he almost quit because of criticism from media and fans.
Even before this Test, there were calls for England to omit Giles and play four seam bowlers.

But the Warwickshire left-armer again answered his critics, and was quick to praise coach England Duncan Fletcher and captain Michael Vaughan.
"I have always had great support from Fletch and Vaughan and I have tried to repay that," he said.
"Hopefully I have done that a bit today."
Giles also paid tribute to his captain for battling back from his own period of patchy form to hit 103.
He said: "He [Vaughan] has gone away in the last two weeks and worked on his technique and it shows hard work does pay off."
West Indies paceman Pedro Collins, who took 4-113, was pleased with his return but wished his team had shown more application on day one, when England racked up 391-2.
"We had a gameplan and the guys did not stick to it yesterday, but today we got results," Collins said.
