Charitha Buddika and Upul Chandana did the damage as Sri Lanka warmed up for the NatWest one-day series with a crushing victory over West Indies A.

The match, the second for the Caribbean tourists in England, was supposed to be a day/night affair at Sussex' home ground of Hove.

But it was over before 1800 BST as the West Indies second string were bowled out for 77, a total Sri Lanka surpassed with 37 overs in hand.

Opening bowler Buddika took four wickets, and Chandana, ignored for the Test series against England, took three in four overs that saw just seven runs conceded.

One-day international batsman Runako Morton top-scored with 20, putting on 35 for the sixth wicket with Gareth Breese, who played against New Zealand recently.

But captain and Test opener Daren Ganga, with 10, was the only other batsmen to reach double figures.

Low notes

Sri Lanka breezed to the total in 13 overs, but there were some negative notes for the tourists, following their 2-0 Test series defeat.

One-day specialist opener Avishka Gunawardene was bowled first ball by Marlon Black.

And out-of-form wicketkeeper Kumar Sangakkara failed to finish off a brisk 35.

Mahela Jayawardene was the other man to fall, also to his first delivery, from off-spinner Breese.

Skipper Sanath Jayasuriya finished 23 not out, with a four and two sixes.
