Solanki, a middle-order batsman converted into a one-day opener by Worcestershire coach Tom Moody, is enjoying a second coming in the one-day squad.
Three years ago he played eight forgettable games in Southern Africa where he averaged just 16 runs per innings.
He top-scored with 24, made little impression and found himself returning to the county ranks.
But three years on the Indian-born batsman has been given a second chance.
On his return he made consecutive new top scores in his first matches back in international colours.
His silky touch with the bat and gazelle-like fielding suggest that he will make a more lasting impression in the team this time around.
