Worcestershire skipper Daryl Mitchell faces a month out
Mitchell took over from Vikram Solanki as Worcestershire captain
Worcestershire director of cricket Steve Rhodes has revealed skipper Daryl Mitchell is likely to be out for a month due to his rib injury.
Rhodes told BBC Hereford and Worcester the results of Mitchell's MRI scan had confirmed their worst fears.
"The initial ultrasound scan results looked pretty good but it is a little bit worse than we thought," he said.
"It still could mean three-to-four weeks out of the side but clearly that will depend on just how he recovers."
Mitchell has been forced to sit out the Championship match against Warwickshire at Edgbaston - the first time he has missed a match due to injury in eight years at New Road.

He picked up the injury when bowling in the CB40 match against Derbyshire at New Road on Sunday, 8 May.
Rhodes says they opted for the MRI scan after the results of the initial examination proved inconclusive.
"Unfortunately the muscle has pulled a little bit away from the rib and there are two tears there," he continued.
"If we can get him back batting within a month then the medical team will have done really well.
"Obviously he doesn't have to play as a bowler and his batting and captaincy are absolutely crucial to us.
"So we may be in a position where we can play him without as much risk because he is not going to be bowling."
