Arif's last appearance came in this month's CB 40 defeat by Lancashire |
Worcestershire have released seamer Imran Arif after three years with the New Road club. Worcestershire director of cricket Steve Rhodes said he felt Arif, 26, had failed to build on a promising start. "After impressing in his first year Imran has been unable to maintain a regular first team place over the past two seasons," he said. "I feel a new challenge will bring out the best in Imran and wish him the very best for the future." Arif took seven wickets on his Worcestershire debut against Glamorgan in July 2008, and finished with 43 scalps in 17 first-class appearances. He was also on the periphery of the county's limited overs team, playing only 13 one-day and nine Twenty20 matches.
