Solanki has seen his side lose all seven CB40 games |
Worcestershire captain Vikram Solanki says his young squad have to start winning games. His team have not won a County Championship game since May and are bottom of their CB40 Group. He told told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "If we play badly, regardless of the fact that we are a young side, it is plain and simple, we have played badly. "We are a group of professional cricketers and we expect pretty high standards of ourselves, as we should." Solanki says he is not being hard on the young players who have done well, with some of them in their first season as regulars in the team. "The way some of the young guys have come on and developed has been brilliant," he said. "Our one-day cricket hasn't been great. I would have liked to have seen the same sort of development in that as we have seen in the Championship. "But there is no secret formula, we need to go back, practice, prepare and work harder - there is nothing else you can do. "When you do get the opportunity to play you must execute your plans and skills well. "We can't do anything about the game that has gone, we must look ahead to Cheltenham this week."
