Goode taking nothing for granted at Worcester Warriors

Goode played five times for Natal Sharks in Super 14 this year

Worcester Warriors fly-half Andy Goode says he knows he will have to earn his place in the Warriors first team.

Goode, who has joined from Brive, told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "There are two other good fly-halves here in Willie Walker and Joey Carlisle.

"I will just get on and play as well as I can.

"I may have experience but I am taking nothing for granted. There are good young players here, like Carlisle, Johnny Arr and Chris Pennell."

He added: "Hopefully I can bring what I have learned through my career to the squad, and hopefully I can help develop some of the young payers here."

Goode played over 150 Premiership games before moving to France and also has 17 England caps to his credit.

He says he is well aware of what the Warriors can expect in the Championship this season: "It is a cup final for every team that plays against us this season, we know that.

"But we have set out standards high and play at Premiership standard, so that when we do get back we are ready for it."

Worcester Warriors start the Championship season at home to Birmingham & Solihull on Saturday, 28 August.

There will be full commentary on every Warriors league game on BBC Hereford & Worcester.
