Choudhry has impressed in Worcestershire's second team. |
Worcestershire have signed spin-bowling all-rounder Shaaiq Choudhry until the end of the 2011 season, following a successful trial at the club. The 24-year-old made his Championship debut in May against Sussex, making 63 in his only innings. Director of cricket Steve Rhodes said: "We have been looking for a young English left arm spinner for some time. "I am pleased with the progress that he has made in recent weeks. This contract will give him confidence to settle in." Choudhry, who previously played with Warwickshire, featured in a first-class game for the MCC against West Indies in 2007 when he scored an unbeaten 54.
