Noffke set for Trent Bridge clash

Ashley Noffke took three wickets in Worcester's home win against Notts

Worcestershire hope to have Ashley Noffke back for the FP Trophy trip to face Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

The Aussie paceman missed the midweek County championship defeat at home to Lancashire after aggravating his hip.

But Noffke has been named in a 13-man squad, along with off spinner Ian Fisher, as Worcestershire go in search of a fourth successive Trophy win.

"They had a 10-wicket defeat to us last week and will be keen to put it right," said Worcester coach Steve Rhodes.

"Notts are a good side I am confident they will beat lot of the other teams in the group."

Following Sunday's trip to Trent Bridge, Worcestershire will have three of the last four games in the group at home thanks to their early season ground alterations. And Rhodes says that should work in their favour.

"We enjoy playing here at Worcester," he said. "And we can hope for as good a performance as we got here against Notts.

"We have some big games to come here at New Road, against Leicester, Hampshire and Ireland so it's all in our hands."

Worcestershire: Solanki (capt), Davies, Moore, Smith, Moeen Ali, Mitchell, Batty, Noffke, Whelan, Fisher, Andrew, Mason, Imran Arif.

BBC Hereford and Worcester will broadcast full ball by ball commentary on Nottinghamshire against Worcestershire on Sunday 11 May ( 1045 BST) on 738 am and on line at bbc.co.uk/herefordandworcester.
