Bracken has played 85 one-day internationals for Australia |
Australian fast bowler Nathan Bracken is a target for Worcestershire after Fidel Edwards pulled out of move to New Road on medical advice. The 30-year-old is currently in the Australian one-day team in the West Indies following knee surgery. Director of cricket Steve Rhodes told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "Bracken has a gap after the one-day series in the West Indies. "There is a window and he is one of the possibilities, but there are others." Rhodes is confident of getting someone in for the second half of the campaign but has not ruled out Steve Magoffin extending his contract for a short time before heading back to Western Australia. Bracken had a brief spell in county cricket with Gloucestershire in 2004. In October 2005, he signed for Worcestershire for the 2006 season, but was unable to move to New Road after he broke into the Australia squad, and was replaced by India's Zaheer Khan.
