There were record floods at New Road last year |
Worcestershire are confident they can fulfil their first fixture of the season in two week's time despite more flooding at their New Road ground. Part of the square is under water and the club's marquee area has had to be evacuated once again. Commercial Director David Leatherdale told BBC Hereford and Worcester the flooding should not be a problem: "This time last year we were flooded, it was a lot deeper, and three weeks later we played the first game." Worcestershire's players reported back for training on Monday, and are due to play a home friendly game against Warwickshire at New Road on 1 April. The first County Championship game at New Road is on 23 April against Leicestershire.
