Worcestershire's New Road cricket ground has been hit by floods again |
Worcestershire say last summer's floods cost them more than 1 million. No cricket was played at New Road after 21 June, causing huge losses due to lost revenue, clear-up costs and the replacement of damaged assets.
"Our recovery plan is well advanced," said chief executive Mark Newton after publishing the club's annual accounts for the year ending 30 September 2007.
"We have received significant help and we expect it will take two years for us to fully recover financially."

Newton added: "We are sending out the positive message our cricket budget will remain ring fenced and we intend to raise considerable funds ourselves during 2008 and 2009.
"For the previous four years we posted a surplus and we have a strong balance sheet. Together with help from many sources, including our bankers and the Inland Revenue, this ensured the club survived a devastating year.
"I would go so far as to say it was probably the worst disaster to ever hit a cricket club as a result of an 'act of God' and our Players deserve full credit for achieving what they did."
