Keegan offered trial with Sussex

Keegan was plagued by injuries during his time at Middlesex

Sussex have announced they will give former Middlesex fast bowler Chad Keegan a trial over the next few weeks.

The 29-year-old South African, who was dropped by Middlesex when his contract ended in November 2007, has featured for Sussex's second team this season.

He has been promoted to the first-team for their FP Trophy match with Surrey.

"As we have qualified for the quarter-finals we will be using the match to give a few fringe players a chance," Sussex manager Mark Robinson said.

South Africa-born Keegan made his first-class debut in 2001 and played his last top-level game for Middlesex in September 2006.

But despite showing glimpses of potential, his time at Lord's was severely hampered by injury.
