Kieron Pollard 'will bring excitement,' says Brian Rose
Pollard played his first ODI in 2007 for the West Indies
Somerset's director of cricket Brian Rose says the arrival of Kieron Pollard will bring "fantastic excitement" to the county's T20 campaign.
The West Indies all-rounder will join the squad in time for Wednesday's match against Middlesex at Lord's.
"I met him last night and he's really looking forward to the experience," Rose told BBC Radio Bristol.
"I think with the squad we have you will see some fantastic excitement, whether we're winning or losing."
He added: "I was hugely impressed with him in the IPL Champions League. He contributes in all parts of the game.
"He can hit the ball tremendously, but people forget he can bowl - and bowl very well."
The 23-year-old spurned a request to tour with West Indies A squad in order to fulfil his Somerset contract.
Rose also confirmed Cameron White will make his Somerset return after Australia's one-day series ends.
The Victoria State-born cricketer, who has already seen two successful seasons at Taunton, will be available for the last six games of the T20 qualifying period.
