Somerset vice-captain Andrew Caddick has started bowling again and could be back in action before the end of May.

The 39-year-old has been sidelined for a month after his back injury recurred in a pre-season game at Cambridge UCCE.

"He's developing really nicely, looking really strong," Somerset head coach Andy Hurry told BBC Somerset.

"He's going to travel with us to Kent to continue his rehabilitation and then hopefully next week he'll be in the mix for selection."

Somerset travel to Tunbridge Wells on Wednesday looking for their first County Championship win of the season, after starting the year with three consecutive drawn games.
