Hoffmann took 2-56 during the match |
Scotland's Paul Hoffmann was fined half of his match fee for barging into Canada's Abdool Samad during his side's one-day match on Wednesday. Hoffmann, who pleaded guilty at the disciplinary hearing, knocked Samad over while the opener was taking a run.
The charge was brought by match umpires Gary Baxter and Roger Dill.
"It's very important that this tournament is played in the true spirit of the game," said tournament referee Roshan Mahanama.
"Paul's behaviour was clearly unacceptable. In coming to my decision I took into account Paul's clean past record and the fact that he apologised for his actions."
Hoffmann took 2-56 from his 10 overs as Scotland won the match by seven runs.
