World Cricket League, Nairobi: Scotland 276-4 beat Canada 269-9 by seven runs Brown cleared the ropes twice in his 27-ball knock of 48 not out |
Scotland made it two wins in two days in the World Cricket League after a seven-run win over Canada in Nairobi.
Canada needed to score 12 runs from the last over, bowled by veteran Dougie Brown, but managed to hit just four.
Fraser Watts hit 70 in Scotland's innings, and late acceleration from former England players Brown (50) and Gavin Hamilton (64) took them to 276-4.
Canada's Ashish Bagai hit a brilliant unbeaten 137 to claim man-of-the-match honours but victory went to the Scots.
Bagai produced solid partnerships with Abdool Samad (32) and Ashif Mulla (48) that kept the match beautifully poised for much of the Canadian reply.
But Scottish captain Craig Wright took 3-46 and Paul Hoffmann picked up a couple of wickets as Canada finished agonisingly short on 269-9 having been 192-3 at one point.
Scotland's win leaves them second in the table, on run rate, to hosts Kenya.
