Aga hopes Kenya 'show potential'
Rageb Aga
Aga captains a Kenyan side lacking 13 leading players
Kenya captain Rageb Aga says the ICC Intercontinental Cup is "vital for the future of Kenyan cricket."

His team play Scotland on 17 November in Abu Dhabi in a three-day semi-final in the new competition. Canada and the UAE contest the other semi-final.

Aga said: "The bigger picture for Kenya is attaining Test status and winning this tournament will be a stepping-stone towards achieving this goal.

"It is important that Kenya shows its potential and does well."

Playing three-day international cricket has benefited the team, added Aga.

He said: "It has taught us skills that can be applied to both types of cricket. It is a very mental and tactical game.

We've already discussed ways to go about playing Scotland. Doing the basics is paramount. As for any special plans, you'll just have to wait and see."
