Nottinghamshire captain Chris Read was frustrated with his side's top-order batting after their FP Trophy quarter-final defeat by Gloucestershire.
Read's side slipped to 87-6 after batting first and went on to lose the game by six wickets at Bristol.
He told BBC Radio Nottingham: "The most disappointing thing is there seems to be a trend emerging with our top-order batsmen in the white-ball game.
"It's something we need to address quickly with the Twenty20 coming up."
Read's 57 helped lead a Nottinghamshire recovery, aided by 33 from Mark Ealham and 30 from Andre Adams, but they were all out for just 189.
Gloucestershire coasted to victory with more than 12 overs to spare, despite losing their first three wickets with only 68 on the board.
Read added: "I think in hindsight we were about 100 runs short.
"We need to address some of our frailties at the top of the order and we need to do it quickly - we might try some more until we find a good combination.
"The idea of having a depth of all-rounders is for them to come in with a nice platform behind them to take the game away from the opposition, but they're coming in and having to rescue the situation at the minute."
