Siebottom was wicketless in his seven overs against Ireland

Nottinghamshire are hopeful that seamer Ryan Sidebottom can play one more game for the county before joining up with England's one-day squad.

Notts travel to Leicestershire in the Friends Provident Trophy on Tuesday.

Director of cricket Mick Newell told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We're hoping he can play on Tuesday at Leicester.

"He bowled well at the end (against Ireland). He came round the wicket and tried variations and it's important for him to do that when he's with England."

Notts stuttered to a two-wicket victory in Ireland on Saturday, winning the game off the penultimate ball.

"If you're looking from a coaching point of view you can find lots of problems," said Newell, "particularly from a batting perspective.

"But I think we just need to try and get through this group.

"It's important for us to make the quarter-finals as a minimum standard."
