South African trialist Kyle Hodnett has been included in Nottinghamshire's squad to face Canterbury in their pre-season friendly. The 14-man Notts squad will bat on Wednesday, bowl on Thursday and play a one-day game on Friday. The 22-year-old right-arm seam bowler has taken part in net training sessions this week. Charlie Shreck, Matt Wood, Graeme Swann and Ryan Sidebottom have all been sidelined due to injury. Director of cricket Mick Newell said: "We expect Will and Charlie to be fit in time for the new season and Ryan isn't too far behind them. "We've had two good days of outdoor nets and our three days in Kent will give players an opportunity to find their sharpness." Darren Pattinson is expected to arrive in Nottingham on 9 April and Adam Voges is due to return four days later.
