Newell believes Notts can go one better and win some silverware next season |
Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell says there will be more new arrivals at Trent Bridge before the start of the season. The club signed 34-year-old spinner Jason Brown last week after he was released by Northamptonshire. Newell told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We need to complete a deal for an overseas player and possibly another batsmen." Notts have announced pre-season games against Kent, Leicestershire and Essex prior to the next campaign. | Our strength is without a doubt our seam bowling Mick Newell, Notts director of cricket | All three games will be played away from Trent Bridge, with Notts travelling to Kent from 1 -3 April. They will play Leicestershire at Grace Road from 5-6 April and then face Essex at Chelmsford from 6-7 April. Newell added: "Our strength is without a doubt our seam bowling - we nearly did enough with the bat to win some competitions this year. "But we still need to have an influx of quality in there to keep the pressure on the guys. "You can't just have five players knowing that they're going to fill the five spots."
