Notts do not want to lose Hussey for the first six weeks of the season

Nottinghamshire are determined to ensure they do not lose Australian batsman David Hussey to the Indian Premier League this summer.

Hussey is reportedly set to sign up for the league, which clashes with the first six weeks of the county season.

That would mean he would miss Notts' first five Championship matches and all eight Friends Provident group games.

Director of cricket Mick Newell said: "We're talking to David. He signed a two-year contract last season."
