Hussey in action for Notts this season |
Australian batsman David Hussey has signed a new one-year contract to remain at Nottinghamshire. The 29-year-old has been a huge success in his three seasons at Trent Bridge, scoring 15 centuries.
Notts were relegated from Division One of the County Championship and Hussey admits they had underachieved.
He said: "I feel it's my responsibility to get us straight back where we belong. A team like Nottinghamshire should be in Division One."
The 29-year-old also hopes by continuing to play well for Notts will boost his ambitions to be selected for Australia.
"I still have a burning desire to play for Australia and both I and Mick Newell (director of cricket) believe scoring runs for Nottinghamshire will help me do that."
