David Hussey in action for the Cricket Australia Chairman's XI |
Nottinghamshire's director of cricket Mick Newell is not worried that overseas player David Hussey could be called up to play for Australia. Hussey has been in tremendous form down under this winter which has led to claims he is close to getting the call.
Newell told BBC Radio Nottingham : "I'm very pleased Dave's been in tremendous form for Victoria.
"If his form continues he could go into the one day squad and then we'd have to think about finding a replacement."
Hussey is currently the second highest run-scorer in Australian domestic cricket.
He has made 429 Pura Cup runs at an average of 60 and smashed a rapid half-century against New Zealand for the Cricket Australia Chairman's XI.
