The West Indies A showed they were preared to make a match of it at Trent Bridge by declaring 64 runs behind Nottinghamshire who now have a 102-run lead with one day left. The day was dominated by two substantial efforts with the bat. Nottinghamshire rookie Vikram Atri came within two runs of making a century on his first-class debut. Opener Atri, just 19, hit 16 boundaries and faced 175 balls, and was the fifth man to fall after Nottinghamshire resumed play on 149 for three. In the West Indies A reply, new ball pairing Nadeem Malik and Tom Savill started well before Ryan Hinds settled into a fine innings. Hinds ended with 73 off just 75 balls - and was finally out when he was caught off Gareth Clough's medium pace. Nottinghamshire had to face 7.4 overs before the umpires brough the players off for bad light, which they managed without losing a wicket.
