Northants were dismissed for just 103 on the opening day of their three-day fixture against an Eastern Province XI in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Acting captain Alex Wakely hit 30 but the tourists struggled against paceman Sisenda Magalar and leg-spinner Lionel Vaaltyn, who shared eight wickets. The hosts were 190-4 at the close with Luke Evans, Lee Daggett, Tom Brett and David Lucas all taking a wicket each. It is the final game of Northants' first pre-season tour since 2002.
