Northants also use Campbell Park for second team and academy games |
Northants have confirmed they will stage a Friends Provident t20 match in Milton Keynes this summer. They are set to host Worcestershire at Campbell Park on Wednesday 29 June with a 1730 BST start time. Northants last played in Milton Keynes in June 2008 when they beat Gloucestershire and lost to Warwickshire in the same competition. "We're excited about bringing this game to Milton Keynes," said the club's deputy chief executive Perry Deakin. "We know from colleagues at MK Dons that people in the region are truly passionate about sport. "We'll look forward to welcoming them to Campbell Park for what will be a superb display of T20 cricket action." MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman added: "Every sports lover in Milton Keynes will welcome the return of first class cricket, and personally I can't wait to see the Steelbacks in action in our city." Northants first staged a 40-over match at the venue in 1997 and use it regularly for second team and academy cricket.
