Capel wants Northants' win against Sussex to inspire more success this season |
David Capel believes Northants' victory against Sussex can trigger a turnaround in their season. Northants had gone five matches without a win before this week's three-wicket victory which saw Andrew Hall replace Nicky Boje as captain. "We were disappointed, and it was a turnaround match," Capel told BBC Radio Northampton. "We've made a few changes, it's made a difference and now we've got to take that forward." Capel was pleased with Hall's impact in his first game as skipper. "I've been very pleased with how that has gone," he said. "The response from the players was very vibrant. You expect that, and the work starts now to get more consistency." Northamptonshire next travel to Gloucestershire in the ECB 40, before hosting Surrey in County Championship Division Two. New signing, Sri Lanka bowler Chaminda Vaas will be available for selection for the four-day game at Wantage Road.
