Lucas has taken eight wickets in 14 Twenty20 matches |
Northants bowler David Lucas says that playing at home will be important in their Twenty20 quarter-final. Hampshire Hawks are the visitors to the County Ground on Wednesday, having won the Friends Provident Trophy against Sussex at the weekend. Lucas told BBC Radio Northampton: "We've put a lot of emphasis into Twenty20. We can bat all the way down the order, and we've got good bowlers. "It's a big test for us, but we're at home and we know what our wicket does." Steelbacks topped their Twenty20 group, losing just two games in the process. "The momentum from the group stages is still with us, and we back ourselves to come out with the right result against Hampshire," Lucas added. Northants' warm-up to the game was a 135-run defeat by Australia.
