Northamptonshire officials have been delighted at the level of interest in their three-day match against Australia which starts at Northampton on 24 July. They have already sold around 1,500 tickets for their match against Australia, five months before the tourists arrive. "We've been taking bookings ever since the game was confirmed," said Northants chief executive Mark Tagg. "I expect at least the first two days to be sold out," he added. "Most of the enquiries have come from the local area, but we've had others from further afield - including Australia." Northants are one of only three counties - along with Sussex and Kent - to be awarded a first-class fixture against the touring side, who will be defending the Ashes against England this summer.
