Tim Boon bemoans Leicestershire's lack of consistency

Tim Boon
We have to learn now and look to the Pro40

Tim Boon

Leicestershire head coach Tim Boon says his side's lack of consistency was the reason for their failure to progress into the FP t20 quarter-finals.

Leicestershire lost to Warwickshire in their final match in the North Group but results elsewhere meant even a win would not have been good enough.

Boon felt the Foxes showed plenty of promise but were unable to shine in all facets of the game on a regular basis.

"It's a campaign of not joining the dots," Boon told BBC Radio Leicester.

"If we look at games we've won, we've joined the dots. We have bowled well, competed with the bat and done enough in the field.

"We have competed right through to the end of the competition so it's not all doom and gloom and it's vital experience.

"But you only get consistency through high quality preparation and playing under pressure.

"Some of the younger guys need to get some cricket under their belt in the winter; they need to play under pressure and take responsibility.

"We have to learn now and look to the Pro40 to have a look to one or two of the younger players."
