Naik has impressed in one-day cricket this season |
Leicestershire head coach Tim Boon says he is devastated for injured bowler Jigar Naik, who has been ruled out of action for a minimum of six weeks. Naik broke his arm in the Championship match against Surrey on Tuesday. The spin bowler was called in as a late replacement for Wayne White, who twisted his ankle in the warm-up. Boon told BBC Radio Leicester: "I'm devastated for Jigar. He's done really well, worked hard and has done everything that has been asked of him." Jigar was hit on the arm by a short-pitched ball from Chris Jordan that reared up. Boon continued: "He didn't have an armguard on and it looks like he will be out for a minimum of six weeks. "He's formed a super partnership with Claude Henderson in the one-day stuff and that partnership has been an integral part of our success."
