Mahmood will face a fight to regain his England place |
Sajid Mahmood has signed a contract extension with Lancashire, taking him up to the end of the 2009 season. The 25-year-old fast bowler made his Lancashire debut in 2002 while on a scholarship with the club.
In 2004, Mahmood made his England debut in the NatWest Series against New Zealand and he has since competed in eight tests for England.
A double hernia operation midway through last season limited his appearances for both club and country.
But despite this Mahmood still played a big part in Lancashire's season - finishing with 30 first-class wickets at an average of 31.83.
