Rob Key's side finished runners-up in three competitions this season |
Kent captain Rob Key has said he is disappointed his side have missed out on four trophies this season. Kent were runners-up in the Twenty20 Cup, the Friends Provident Trophy and Pro40 Division Two and were at one point County Championship contenders. Key said: "It could have been an unbelievable season, we could have won all three competitions, plus we've been challenging in the Championship. "It doesn't mean much if you're not going to win them." | We need to make sure we stay in the first division and then we can say we've had an okay year | He told BBC Radio Kent: "It's been a funny year, it's been a year of regret, probably more than anything, for not putting on good performances when it mattered in the final. "In the two finals we've played in and the Pro40 second division, we didn't put on our best show. "We need to make sure we stay in the first division and then we can say we've had an okay year." Kent are the only county never to have been relegated from the top division of Championship cricket in their history. They need to win against Durham to ensure their Division One status, a draw could be good enough depending on other results.
