The 600,000 sale of a painting has helped Kent record a 293,000 profit for the year-ending October 2006. The underlying operating loss of 165,000 compared favourably with a loss of 310,000 in 2005.
But chairman Carl Openshaw said much depends on gaining planning permission to redevelop the Canterbury ground.

The painting of a match between Kent and Lancashire in 1906, by Albert Chavalier Taylor, was sold at auction in June.
