Healthy profit announced by Notts
Notts
Nottinghamshire have revealed a pre-tax surplus of 140,988 for the financial year ending 30 September.

Having lifted the County Championship in 2005 and staged a profitable Ashes Test that summer, there was also an increase in membership of 13%.

In 2006 Notts reached the Twenty20 final to help ensure a profit for the sixth season in succession.

The club also announced a 59% increase in match receipts for 2006, compared with the 2005 campaign.

During the course of the year, more than 370,000 was spent on cricket development and Academy work.

Finance chairman Richard Tennant: "Given the huge importance to our contribution to the wider community, this is an area where we intend to invest still further in the current year."

The club also recently announced proposals for an 8.2million redevelopment plan, which will include building a new stand on the Bridgford Road side of the ground and the installation of permanent floodlights.
