Ireland-Kenya encounter abandoned

Ireland coach Phil Simmons
Phil Simmons' Ireland still have a chance of being involved in the final

Ireland suffered their second match abandonment in two days in Nairobi when Wednesday's Triangular Series clash with Kenya fell victim to the weather.

A wet outfield had also put paid to Tuesday's game against Zimbabwe.

The Irish will have to wait on the result of Thursday's game between Kenya and Zimbabwe to learn whether they will be involved in Saturday's final.

A win for either Kenya or Zimbabwe will guarantee Ireland a final place but a washout will end their hopes.

Ireland lost their opener against Zimbabwe by 156 runs before claiming an 86-run win over Kenya on Saturday.

Kenya defeated Zimbabwe in the other completed match and both African sides have better run-rates than the Irish.
