Notts lost three early wickets before Adam Voges (60) and Chris Read (45) helped them post 217-9 - Kevin O'Brien (4-31) the pick of the Irish bowlers. But in reply the hosts batted woefully, Andrew White top-scoring with 30. England's Ryan Sidebottom, Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann took one wicket each as Ireland were bowled out for 161. Ireland, who won the toss, got off to the perfect start when O'Brien trapped opener Bilal Shafayat lbw in the second over for a duck before sending Mark Wagh's off stump flying in his next over. The Outlaws slumped to 19-3 Will Jefferson edged Phil Eaglestone straight to Surrey wicketkeeper Gary Wilson. Australian Voges steadied the innings with the aid of Samit Patel (28) but the former fell to Kyle McCallan and the latter was quick to follow. Read, Swann (21) and Ealham (21) helped the visitors towards their competitive total. Ireland skipper had Will Porterfield got the innings off to a good start but he fell to Sidebottom for 15 and the wickets then began to tumble. Ealham made up for an earlier drop off Broad by dismissing Reinhardt Strydom and O'Brien in successive overs. White and Andre Botha (21) threatened to launch a fightback but Botha edged behind to hand Broad his first Notts wicket. Alex Cusack (20) and McCallan (20no) offered resistance but Samit Patel, Ealham and Swann guided Notts to victory.
