Hampshire sign Australian all-rounder Daniel Christian
Christian plays for South Australia in his native country
Hampshire have signed Australian all-rounder Daniel Christian for the duration of their FP t20 campaign.
The 27-year-old, who has played three Twenty20 internationals, is set to make his debut against Glamorgan on Tuesday.
"Everyone I've talked to has spoken glowingly of the club and it should be a good time," he told BBC Radio Solent.
Meanwhile, pace bowler Kabir Ali has undergone a scan on a knee injury that could rule him out for the remainder of the season.
Christian's arrival comes after fellow Australian Brett Lee's move to The Rose Bowl was scuppered by an elbow injury.
"It's all been pretty quick," added Christian. "It only really got sorted out on Friday so I was pretty much straight down here and straight into training and looking forward to Tuesday night.
"I've been talking to Surrey because they needed replacement for Younus Khan, who's got his Pakistan stuff going on.
"But this came up and it's an opportunity to play most of the Twenty20 so I'm really looking forward to it."
Hampshire expect Christian to be available for the whole of the FP t20 campaign, including finals day, which is being held at The Rose Bowl.
