Fans attending major matches at the Rose Bowl now have the opportunity to guarantee the best seats, with the new Rose Bowl Debenture Scheme.

The scheme gives people the rights to buy face value tickets for all international matches plus top domestic games over the next seven years.

Chairman Rod Bransgrove told BBC Radio Solent: "We feel we are in the best position now to guarantee these seats."

Prices range from £2,500 to £6,000 and includes an annual interest bonus.

Work has already begun on a £48m redevelopment project which will increase the ground's capacity up to 25,000.

It is envisaged that money raised from the scheme will contribute to the construction of two new covered spectator stands.

The debenture scheme will offer only 1,150 tickets.

Bransgrove added: "It's basically a form of a loan to the cricket club in return for certain privileges.

"But in this case to make it more exciting for cricket supporters we're giving a reasonable return on it as well."
