Late Aldershot goals from Danny Hylton and Marvin Morgan rescued a point.
Hereford took an early lead from the penalty spot through Tristan Plummer after Morgan was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area.
The winger grabbed his second of the game with a neat finish late in the second half before Hylton pulled one back with a close-range header.
Aldershot completed their comeback when Morgan latched onto a Hylton through-ball and slid the ball home to level.
Aldershot manager Gary Waddock tells BBC Surrey:
"The lads kept plugging away, I think we played really well today, and we deserved that in the end. To concede so early we could have possibly fallen apart, perhaps last year we would have done.
"We could even have gone on to win it, but its a point gained when you're 2-nil down. Never underestimate a point.
If you would have spun the results round, we'd probably have taken a point at Grimsby and won here today, so its another point to what we've got , and we move forward"
